First MA Thesis Defence: "The Representation of Urban Peripherality in Selected Noir Narratives”"

The Department of English Language and Literature – Comparative Literary & Cultural Studies at The British University in Egypt is proud to announce its first MA thesis defense, marking a significant milestone in the department’s postgraduate journey.

The defense, titled “The Representation of Urban Peripherality in Selected Noir Narratives,” will be presented by Ms. Mona Sayed Abdelhaleem.

The event will take place on Monday, 27th April 2026 at 12:00 PM in Building D, Room 203, and the BUE community is warmly invited to attend and support this important academic occasion. The department expresses its great pride in Ms. Mona Sayed Abdelhaleem for her outstanding dedication and scholarly achievement.

The thesis has been developed under the supervision of Prof. Shadia Sobhy Fahim (Main Supervisor), with co-supervision from Prof. Nadia Farouk Hashish and Dr. Hoda Abdallah Elhadary. The examination committee includes distinguished academics from Ain Shams University, the University of Frankfurt, and The British University in Egypt.
